I saw a butterfly in my dream. What does it mean?
Seeing a butterfly in a dream is interpreted in the Islamic tradition of dream interpretation as uplifting news, grace and sincere affection, much like the glad tidings of spring. In the classical tradition, however, a moth or butterfly flying toward a flame is also read as a warning against acting without forethought out of inexperience or chasing fleeting desires.

- A butterfly landing on your hand or shoulder: Points to a hoped-for development being close at hand and good fortune opening up.
- A butterfly or moth flying toward fire: Serves as a warning against rushing into a matter without weighing the outcome or following a passing whim.
- Catching or harming a butterfly: Interpreted as hurting a gentle heart or losing a delicate opportunity through haste.
