Seeing a monster in a dream: what does it mean in Islam?

Seeing a monster in a dream points to the matters that worry you. A monster usually represents not a real danger but the anxieties you have built up in your mind.

The symbols in your dream

• Seeing a monster: Points to worries that unsettle you and occupy your mind.
• A monster chasing you: Points to a matter you are running from and hesitate to face.
• Defeating a monster: Points to overcoming your fears and feeling relief.
• A monster disappearing: Points to your worries turning out to be unfounded.

In short

A monster dream says that your worries are wearing you down. Most of what we fear never happens; if you defeated the monster or saw it disappear, it gives glad tidings that these worries will scatter. Anxiety can be eased through prayer and trust in Allah.

Advice

• Write down what you worry about and set realistic steps.
• Recite Ayat al-Kursi and Surah al-Falaq and an-Nas before sleeping.
• Seek refuge in Allah from the harm of the dream and do not tell it to anyone.

Allah knows best the truth of dreams.
