Seeing a mosque in a dream: what does it mean in Islam?

Seeing a mosque in a dream is generally one of the dreams that point to good in the Islamic tradition of dream interpretation. The mosque represents spiritual life, prayers that will be accepted, and a respected person who brings people together in goodness.

The symbols in your dream

• A well-kept, crowded mosque: A scholar who gathers people in goodness, or beautiful unity in the community.
• Entering a mosque: Goodness and blessing, the heart finding peace.
• Praying in a mosque: Good deeds and reaching your goals; spiritual elevation.
• Building or repairing a mosque: Reward, following the Sunnah and keeping family ties; in some interpretations, a blessed marriage.
• Finding the mosque door locked: A temporary difficulty in some matter or a delayed wish.
• Seeing the mosque dirty: A reminder of a promise or vow not yet fulfilled.

Seeing a mosque in a dream: other variations

• Your house turning into a mosque in a dream: Points to goodness, piety and honour.
• A mosque collapsing in a dream: Points to the passing of a pious leader there, or hardships ahead.
• Praying with a crowd in a mosque in a dream: Points to events that will please many people.
• Praying in prostration in a mosque in a dream: Points to a prayer being answered soon.

In short

A mosque dream is mostly a call that brings you closer to your Lord. If you entered the mosque in peace, this dream points to your prayers being accepted and your affairs opening in goodness. If you saw something lacking in the dream, it is a gentle reminder to complete a worship or promise you have put off.

Advice

• Thank Allah and share the dream only with people who love you.
• Strive to pray on time and to join the congregation.
• If you made a promise or a vow, fulfil it.

Allah knows best the truth of dreams.
