You

I dreamed that I set out on a journey. What does it mean?

Setting out on a journey in a dream is interpreted in the Islamic tradition of dream interpretation as a change in your life, a new period or progress toward a goal. Whether the road is easy or hard, who is with you and where you arrive determine the meaning.

The symbols in your dream

  • Packing a suitcase: Preparing for a change or a journey.
  • An easy, peaceful journey: Affairs going well, reaching your goal.
  • Travelling with loved ones: Unity in the family and good steps taken together.
  • Getting lost on the way: Indecision about something; a search for direction.
  • Returning from a journey: A task being completed, finding peace.

Going on a journey in a dream: other variations

  • Preparing provisions for the road in a dream: Points to sending some good ahead.
  • Travelling on foot in a dream: Points to a heavy burden or debt upon you.
  • Travellers bringing news in a dream: Points to news coming from that direction.
  • Crossing over by boat in a dream: Points to coming out on top in every matter.
  • Getting on a bus in a dream: Points to winning a place in someone's heart.
  • A shoelace breaking in a dream: Points to a journey being postponed.

In short

A journey dream mostly shows that you are about to move into a new stage of your life. If the road was open and pleasant, it points to this change being blessed and you reaching your goals. If the road was hard, the dream reminds you to be patient and to seek counsel to find the right direction.
