Smoking a cigarette in a dream: what does it mean in Islam?

Seeing or smoking a cigarette in a dream points to patience; it is interpreted as reaching what you want at the end of your patience. Setting something on fire while smoking, however, is a warning that your patience is running out.

The symbols in your dream

• Smoking a cigarette: Points to a matter you have been patient about for a long time.
• Someone offering you a cigarette: Points to reaching the outcome you are waiting for at the end of your patience; it may be a job, healing or a love that is returned.
• Quitting or putting out a cigarette: Points to deciding to leave a matter behind.
• Setting the house on fire while smoking: It is a warning of your patience running out and bursting into anger; make your decisions calmly.

In short

A cigarette dream is a dream of patience. If you have long been patient for a job, news or love, the dream gives glad tidings that you will receive the reward of that patience. If the cigarette set something on fire in your dream, think carefully before ending things in anger.

Advice

• Keep up your patience and prayer for the good you are waiting for.
• Do not decide when you are angry; calm down first.
• If the dream unsettled you, seek refuge in Allah and do not tell it to anyone.

Allah knows best the truth of dreams.
