Clothes tearing in a dream: what does it mean in Islam?

Clothes tearing in a dream is interpreted differently depending on whether the garment was tight or loose. Clothing is one's state of mind: a tight garment tearing points to being freed from the problems that weigh on you, while a beautiful, loose garment tearing points to tension arising in a peaceful life.

The symbols in your dream

• A tight garment tearing: Points to being freed from events that weigh on you and upset you.
• A loose, beautiful garment tearing: It is a warning of a quarrel, a loss of position or a separation in a life that is going well.
• Cutting your own clothes: It is a warning against harming yourself through your own decisions, or a bad investment.
• Cutting someone else's clothes: Points to someone being upset or frightened because of you.
• Someone wearing your clothes: Points to someone who carries your words to others, and low spirits.

In short

A torn-clothes dream is read by whether the garment was tight on you. If a tight, constricting garment tore, the matters that overwhelm you will end. If a beautiful garment tore, you need to be careful in your relationships and work and not decide in anger.

Advice

• Do not make important decisions in haste or in anger.
• Choose carefully who you confide in; your words may be carried to others.
• If the dream unsettled you, seek refuge in Allah and do not tell it to anyone.

Allah knows best the truth of dreams.
