Wearing white in a dream: what does it mean in Islam?

Wearing white in a dream is interpreted in the Islamic tradition of dream interpretation as purity, deliverance and meeting with goodness. White clothing is a blessed symbol that points to emerging from difficulties and to a good state in faith and in worldly life.

The symbols in your dream

• Clean white clothes: Being freed from problems and meeting with goodness, peace of heart.
• Putting on new white clothes: A new, clean beginning; in some interpretations, marriage.
• White clothes getting dirty: A word or behaviour that needs attention.
• Wearing white for Eid: Joy and glad tidings.
• Seeing someone else in white: A sign that the person is in a good state.

Wearing white in a dream: other variations

• Seeing the person you like in a white shirt in a dream: Points to them being a good person and the marriage being blessed.
• Buildings being painted white in a dream: Points to a better life ahead and rising.
• Black clothes turning white in a dream: Points to being well spoken of and leaving sins behind.
• A tight garment tearing in a dream: Points to being freed from problems that weigh on you.
• Seeing a white car in front of the house in a dream: Points to blessed developments: exam success, a good marriage or a good job.

In short

A dream of wearing white is mostly a dream of purification and opening a new page. The dream points to your difficulties being left behind and your heart and life becoming bright. If the clothes were stained, the dream reminds you to take a little more care with your words and behaviour.

Advice

• If your dream was good, thank Allah and share it only with people who love you.
• Keep your heart clean through repentance and istighfar.
• If the dream unsettled you, seek refuge in Allah and do not tell it to anyone; it will not harm you.

Allah knows best the truth of dreams.
