Seeing a mountain in a dream: what does it mean in Islam?

Seeing a mountain in a dream is interpreted in the Islamic tradition of dream interpretation as a powerful and respected person, a great goal or a difficulty to be overcome. Whether you climbed the mountain and whether you reached the summit determine the meaning.

The symbols in your dream

• Climbing a mountain: Moving toward a goal with effort; rising despite difficulties.
• Reaching the summit: Reaching your aim, position and standing.
• Seeing a mountain from afar: A great goal ahead of you, or a powerful person.
• Coming down a mountain: A task being completed, or a responsibility being set down.
• Falling from a mountain: A setback in a goal; a warning not to rush.
• A green, wooded mountain: A blessed rise.

Seeing a mountain in a dream: other variations

• Rocks falling from a mountain in a dream: Points to obstacles on the way to your goal.
• Flying over a mountain in a dream: Points to rank and strength gained without effort.
• Seeing a bare, dry mountain in a dream: Points to a harsh authority who benefits no one.
• A mountain shaking and settling back in a dream: Points to a passing hardship for people of rank.

In short

A mountain dream is mostly about great goals and the patience needed to reach them. If you reached the summit, it points to you receiving the reward of your efforts and your standing growing. If you struggled to climb, the dream reminds you to move toward your goal step by step, with trust in Allah.

Advice

• If your dream was good, thank Allah and share it only with people who love you.

• If the dream unsettled you, seek refuge in Allah and do not tell it to anyone; it will not harm you.

Allah knows best the truth of dreams.
