A car accident in a dream: what does it mean in Islam?

Seeing a car accident in a dream is most often interpreted in the Islamic tradition of dream interpretation as a setback that may happen in some matter, a warning against haste, or a worry about losing control. Coming out of the accident safe and sound is a hopeful detail that points to you getting through the difficulty.

The symbols in your dream

• Coming out of the accident unharmed: Escaping a danger, being under Allah's protection.
• You were driving the car: That you need to be more careful in your own decisions.
• An accident in a car someone else was driving: Being affected by other people's decisions; give your trust carefully.
• The car being damaged: A setback in some matter or plan; a situation that can be fixed.
• Avoiding the accident: Noticing a mistake in time.

A car accident in a dream: other variations

• A car hitting someone in a dream: If you know them, it points to them falling into hardship; if a stranger, to you coming to no harm.
• Barely managing to drive in a dream: Points to narrowly avoiding a loss.
• A car running out of petrol in a dream: Points to a setback and things stalling.
• Stopping a moving car in a dream: Points to persuading someone close not to leave.
• Hitting something while parking in a dream: Points to something not settling into place; parking cleanly means finding ease.

In short

An accident dream is mostly a warning about the pace of life and decisions made in haste. The dream reminds you to slow down, review your plans and be cautious. If you came out of the accident safely, it points to you getting through any difficulty you may face.

Advice

• If the dream frightened you, seek refuge in Allah from the evil of Shaytan, lightly spit three times to your left, and do not tell the dream to anyone; it will not harm you.
• When setting out on the road, recite the travel supplication and give sadaqah.
• Do not rush important decisions.

Allah knows best the truth of dreams.
